Age Has Nothing to Do With Getting Breast Implants

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reports that last year in the US, breast augmentation surgeries were performed on over 300,000 women in the United States. And many of the women who underwent breast augmentation surgery were over the age of 30. In fact, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported that in 2009, over 39% of the women who had breast augmentation surgery were between the ages of 35 to 50 years of age and approximately nine percent were older than 50.

And not only are the patients growing older, the breast implants being requested are growing larger too according to industry statistics.

If you are considering breast augmentation surgery, my advise is simple:

Make sure that the doctor you go to IS certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This is critical for your health and safety. And the second piece of advise is that you should be aware that breast implants are not permanent or just a one-time thing. Most implants come with a 10 year warranty and will need to be replaced as they age or as you age.
