Cosmetic Surgery Blog: Tip Assemetry Primary Reason for Rhinoplasty

Researchers from two leading universities in the US found that most patients seeking Rhinoplasty did so to correct asymmetry of their nose tip. Researchers used a questionnaire with over 100 patients to find out if their interest in Rhinoplasty was for functional or for aesthetic reasons.

Researchers found that the most common concern for patients seeking Rhinoplasty was Nose Tip Asymmetry. Patient concerns also included difficulty in breathing or blockage of the nasal passage as well as “crooked middle third irregularity”.

The study was published in the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery for September / October.
