Exploring Female Breast Reduction Surgery

When most people think about a breast augmentation procedure, they assume it’s primarily women seeking to increase their insufficient bosoms, or to develop cleavage that was not bestowed upon them naturally. But what about the other end of the spectrum? Recent surveys have indicated that American women are wearing larger bras. The average bra size jumped from a 34B to a 34DD in just 20 years. Some may consider them “lucky,” however, ladies with large endowments typically suffer from neck pain, back pain or related ailments. These women seek the opposite of breast augmentation by having Orlando breast reduction surgery.

In fact, breast reduction is one of the most successful and commonly requested plastic surgery procedures. By removing extra fat, tissue and skin from the chest, it can relieve the issues associated with a condition called symptomatic macromastia, in which large breasts cause pain and other physical issues.

Non-surgical options exist, but they come with limitations–there is expansive documentation in medical literature that highlights the meager success symptomatic macromastia patients achieve with non-surgical procedures. Because of this low success rate, women with more breast tissue than they’d like, often turn to breast reduction surgery.

Breast reduction surgery, also known as reduction mammaplasty, is highly effective in reducing excessive breast tissue and bringing relief to patients. Its benefits include improved physical functioning, pain relief, improved skeletal stability, improved lung function, improved sleep quality and reduced headaches. By reducing breasts to a size more in proportion with a woman’s height and weight, it can also increase self esteem and posture.
