Blepharoplasty is the plastic surgery procedure that Dr. George Pope uses to treat droopy and wrinkled eyelids. During your pre surgery consultation in the relaxing environment of Pope Plastic Surgery, Dr. Pope examines your eyes and determines whether the surgery would involve upper eyelid, lower eye lid or both. To ensure the best results from surgery, you must candidly discuss your current health status, present and past illnesses and medication regimen with him. Your picture will also be taken to show you the difference before and after the eye lid surgery.

Your blood pressure, breathing pattern, blood oxygen levels and other vital signs are carefully monitored throughout the surgery. The incisions are made within the natural folds of the eye though if your skin has a lot of elasticity, a trans-conjunctival incision may also be made. The skin is then separated from underlying tissue and muscle and excess fat is removed if required. Excess sagging skin is also trimmed and incisions are closed with very fine surgical sutures.

You are moved to the recovery room after the surgery and Dr. Pope prescribes safe pain killers to subside the discomfort that results from bruising and swelling. You can go home the same day but just need to take care and follow the instructions given by the doctor for a few days. Within 15 to 20 days of the surgery, your eye lids will begin to get the look that you desired and add more to the cosmetic beauty of your face.

Pope Plastic Surgery also has facilities for other plastic surgery procedures including nose jobs, face lift surgeries, lip augmentation, otoplasty, gynecomastia surgery, and removal of dark spots and skin pigmentation. To get an appointment with Dr. George Pope, speak to us today at 407-857-6261.
